Yesterday, Irene visited her church choir member who had just returned the day before from one night stay in the hospital. Having Irene as a friend is a blessing as she behaves like a friend. She speaks the truth in a diplomatic manner. There is a saying that “Many a truth is spoken in jest”, but this does not align with her values. She tells her friends the facts without trying to patronize them. She is capable of balancing frankness and diplomacy in her speech which place her in the category of those blessed with good communication skills.
She visited her friend and took her for lunch and sat there talking. She didn’t do this for any special reason. The only reason she visited her friend was to just chit chat and provide support.
Irene repeats this same caring and helpful manner to the older folks. As I sit here typing out this blog posting, I hear her calling an older church member inquiring if she wants to go to church tomorrow. Two days ago, she phone this same lady and sang “Happy birthday to you…” It was her friend’s birthday and she remembers it.
There are many more incidences of her diplomacy, her warmth towards others and her ability to be helpful when others needs it. This makes her a very considerate person.
No 7 attribute of a great wife: Considerate towards one and all.
Cheers.
See you next week.
